Math with Melissa

Melissa Wittmer is a Mathematics Instructor at Ozarks Technical Community College (OTC) in Springfield, Missouri. She holds a B.S. in Secondary Mathematics Education from the University of Central Florida, and a M.S. in Secondary Mathematics Education from Missouri State University. She has taught for over twenty years with Springfield Public Schools, Cox College of Nursing, and OTC combined. Melissa is a 2018 recipient of the Governor’s Excellence in Education Award and a 2022 recipient of the Mathematical Association of Two Year Colleges (MOMATYC) Teaching Excellence Award.

Throughout her career, Melissa has led professional development on best practices, using technology and engaging online students. At OTC, she has served as President of Faculty Senate, member of the Chancellor’s Advisory Council and Strategic Initiative Committees. Melissa also served multiple years on the Board of Directors for MCCA (Missouri Community College Association), finishing her term as President in 2020.
