B. Summarizing and Graphing Data

Summarizing and Graphing Data

In the first unit, we learned various methods for collecting data and how to identify the different types of data. Various sampling methods were discussed. Now, you will learn how to analyze large sets of data, and how to organize, summarize and represent the data in a meaningful form. Most of the homework problems involve different types of graphs. The PowerPoint lessons provide you with demonstrations of the important types of graphs to know.

The three main graphs you need to know from chapter two are: frequency distributions, histograms, and stem and leaf plots.
